There's something oddly fascinating
Captivating to the point of single-mindedness
Watching the world that you've cultivated
The life you've created and grown
Begin to implode and crumble
To tumble away as if a rocky outcrop
Winters freeze breaking it apart
Boulders and pebbles alike go
Rolling and careening down the bank
Knowing the end won't be easy
But in it, maybe a rebirth or at the least
Destruction so complete, not even dust remains
