Knowing now what can and can't be
Does not change my heart or my feelings
A smolder still lies deep within, a spark
Will remain tucked away waiting for a moment
That may never come and a chance
To reignite what once burned but until
Such time comes I shall be content
Having a true and gracious friend
One who knows me and my soul better
Than anyone before and may again
A friend whom I will be there for time again
